C.S. Lewis used Aslan in his Narnia series to teach many of the same principles as are found in Santa Claus. Christ also used stories and parables to teach his disciples-- those who are ready understand and those who are not cannot be condemned for misunderstanding teachings of this kind.<br /><br />Secondly, it seems as though there are many symbols in the world that can inspire us and build our faith but that are ignored or unrecognized by the world itself. "All things denote there is a God". Where I can look at a star-filled sky or a majestic mountain range and feel the testimony of each, worldly wisdom would say these are only a consequence of science in action and of no particular spiritual importance. Perhaps as we grow and mature spiritually, these symbols and testimonies become increasingly visible and increasingly audible to us.
